Welcome to the web-home of Peruvian Pearls Suri Company.

Our adventure with alpacas all started with our parents. Over a decade ago, our parents purchased their first three females and jumped into the alpaca industry. Since then, they have become successful and notable breeders with their while huacaya herd.

In continuing with the family business, my sister and I decided to establish our own herd. We kept the same (or very similar) specialization of full Peuvian bloodlines with strong Accoyo genetics. Although, keeping separate from our parents, we chose not to specialize in only whites, but also light and medium fawn suris.

Since starting out in 2004 with a single juvenile female, we have grown to a small herd of about 20.Our breeding efforts have produced a herd of suri alpacas that come from strong genetic backgrounds, are conformationally sound, stand on strong frames, and have fine, lustrous locks. They are winners in both our eyes and in the show circuits.

If you are interested in any of our animals please feel free to contact us for more information by using the request form below. Like our website, our farm is more 'virtual,' as our entire herd resides in Pennsylvania at Heather's Acre Alpaca Farm while we continue our educational and professional goals out of state. To schedule a visit to the farm you can contact Heather of Peruvian Pearls Suri Co. or Tim and Debbie of Heather's Acre Alpaca Farm.

Behind the Company Name

Picture
What started out as a holiday tradition grew into something deep and dear to our hearts. In keeping the spirit of family and success alive we are eager to share the story behind the name...

Every year for Christmas one of our uncles gave each of the girls in our family a tiny box with a pearl inside. Over the years these pearls came in different sizes but always the finest of quality. Finally, after our 17th and 18th pearl we would be young women about to graduate from high school and step into the real world. The many tiny boxes were then taken to the jewelers and strung on a delicate gold chain. The necklace was then worn for graduation; as a symbol of our passage into adulthood. Each pearl represents a year of our past and how each moment of our lives feeds into our beautiful future successes.

With the support of our family my sister and I have grown to be very ambitious and successful in our own lives. The uniqueness of the holiday tradition started by one of our family members was very similar to the rarity of the suri alpaca amongst the industry. When researching and studying this breed the long silky locks covering the necks and legs of these animals reminded us of strands of beautiful pearls and thus we knew "pearls" were to be a part of our future successes one way or another.
